Ussain Bille

Facilities and Operations Manager

Ussain oversees the facilities and operations of the Chinese Canadian Museum, contributing to and collaborating with various departments within the museum and external contractors to ensure smooth and efficient operations. His role is pivotal in maintaining the museum’s infrastructure, managing logistics, and supporting the institution’s mission.

After winning a scholarship that led him from Kenya to Vancouver, Ussain attended Simon Fraser University (SFU). One of the most fascinating experiences during his time at SFU was being introduced to the beautiful Chinese language and culture, which inspired him to take Mandarin courses and develop a deep interest in Chinese culture and language.

In addition to his academic achievements, Ussain holds Real Estate Management certifications from UBC and Project Management certifications from Google.

Ussain is also passionate about language and culture and is fluent in various languages, which previously led him to provide interpretation services to the UN and various Canadian Federal agencies. He has also managed and worked with various local non-profit organizations in sectors such as housing providers, childcare, elderly care, and youth, overseeing large projects.
