Your support is impactful on every level.

Your support helps the Chinese Canadian Museum bring history to life, amplify underrepresented stories, and create meaningful connections across communities. Every donation — big or small — directly supports exhibitions, education programs, and public initiatives that engage thousands of visitors each year.

Your Gift in Action

  • $25 supports an education program for one student
  • $100 helps deliver hands-on workshops and public programs
  • $500 supports the development of exhibitions and storytelling initiatives
  • $1,000+ helps expand access through community outreach and free programming

Together, we are building a more inclusive understanding of Canada’s past, present, and future.

More Ways to Donate

Donating publicly traded securities is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. By donating stocks, bonds, or mutual funds directly to the museum, you can eliminate capital gains tax while receiving a charitable tax receipt for the full market value of your gift.

Your contribution will have an immediate impact while also maximizing your tax benefits. To make a gift of securities, please contact us and we’ll guide you through the process.

Leave a legacy

Create a lasting impact by including the Chinese Canadian Museum in your estate plans. Legacy gifts — such as bequests, life insurance, or retirement funds — help ensure that future generations can continue to learn from and engage with Chinese Canadian history.

Planned giving is a meaningful way to support the museum’s long-term vision while aligning with your personal values. We would be honoured to work with you and your advisors to help shape your legacy.

Why give? And how your donation helps

Your donation makes it possible for the museum to serve as a dynamic space for learning, reflection, and connection.

With your support, we are able to preserve and share important histories, create accessible programming, and foster dialogue across communities. Every contribution helps remove barriers to access, expand educational opportunities, and ensure that diverse stories are seen, heard, and valued.

Across Generations and a Nation: Linda Wong’s Story

Linda’s hope in being a founding donor to the Chinese Canadian Museum is that the oral histories of previous, present and future generations will be shared and safeguarded for all Canadians. In this story, she has chosen to highlight her father in the cross-Canada history of her family.

From Chinatown Roots to Lasting Legacy: Teresa Mew’s story

For Teresa Mew, the story of her family in Canada begins in 1899, when her grandfather arrived and settled in Vancouver’s Chinatown. During the Depression he moved to Alert Bay to operate a general store, later returning to Vancouver after the war to purchase a building on Pender Street.

Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future: A Donor Story — Gordon R. Lee

For Gordon R. Lee, supporting the Chinese Canadian Museum (CCM) is far more than philanthropy — it’s an act of remembrance, a tribute to the courage of those who came before him, and a way of ensuring that their stories continue to be shared for generations to come.

Honouring One of our First Donors: Edward Pon

The Chinese Canadian Museum’s story is inseparable from the people who believed in it from the very beginning — those who knew the stories of Chinese Canadians must be told, preserved, and celebrated. One of those remarkable champions is Edward Pon of Calgary.
