Ken Koo
Ken Koo is the founder, CEO, and Chief Creative Officer of Identica Brand Consulting, formerly known as Koo Creative Group Inc. of Vancouver, since its inception in 1982. Under Ken’s leadership, Koo Creative Group grew to become the largest brand and design firm in Vancouver during the 1980s and 1990s.
In 2000, Koo Creative Group was acquired by Cossette Group of Montreal, then Canada’s largest advertising and marketing agency. In 2004, Ken relocated to Shanghai to spearhead Cossette’s expansion into the Asian market under Identica Brand Consulting. Today, the company operates as an independent company with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Vancouver.
Ken has over 40 years of experience in brand and marketing consulting industry, the quality and creativity of Ken’s work has earned him numerous awards and an international reputation. Awards: 40 under 40 Vancouver, Business Effectiveness Award Canada, Applied Arts Canada, Communication Arts, British Design & Art Directors, and the Lotus Awards among others.
Ken served on the board of the Mount St. Joseph Hospital Foundation in Vancouver during the 1990s and was a board member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra from 1998 to 1999. From 2000 to 2004, he was the Creative Director of “Face the World,” a high-profile celebrity charity event in Vancouver dedicated to raising funds for disadvantaged women’s causes.
Currently, Ken is a board member of the K-Foundation Group in Shanghai and Hong Kong, a charitable organization focused on supporting underprivileged children in rural areas across Greater China. Additionally, he serves on the boards of several real estate private equity firms within the Kailong REI Group, operating in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Ken comes from an inspiring family legacy. His late father, Dr. Joseph Koo, was a highly admired icon in Hong Kong’s music and entertainment industry, with a career spanning several decades. Dr. Koo was honored as a Member of the British Empire (MBE), received an honorary doctorate from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and was awarded the Hong Kong Government’s prestigious Gold Bauhinia Award in recognition of his significant cultural contributions.
