Across Generations and a Nation: Linda Wong’s Story
Linda’s hope in being a founding donor to the Chinese Canadian Museum is that the oral histories of previous, present and future generations will be shared and safeguarded for all Canadians. In this story, she has chosen to highlight her father in the cross-Canada history of her family.
From Chinatown Roots to Lasting Legacy: Teresa Mew’s story
For Teresa Mew, the story of her family in Canada begins in 1899, when her grandfather arrived and settled in Vancouver’s Chinatown. During the Depression he moved to Alert Bay to operate a general store, later returning to Vancouver after the war to purchase a building on Pender Street.

For Gordon R. Lee, supporting the Chinese Canadian Museum (CCM) is far more than philanthropy — it’s an act of remembrance, a tribute to the courage of those who came before him, and a way of ensuring that their stories continue to be shared for generations to come.

The Chinese Canadian Museum’s story is inseparable from the people who believed in it from the very beginning — those who knew the stories of Chinese Canadians must be told, preserved, and celebrated. One of those remarkable champions is Edward Pon of Calgary.
