Artist Talk with Marlene Yuen | Vancouver

November 9, 2023
Artist Talk with Marlene Yuen | Vancouver

Come behind the scenes of the vibrant mural The Journeys Here by Marlene Yuen.

This dynamic piece can be found in the Odysseys and Migration exhibition within the Introductory Gallery at the Chinese Canadian Museum. It tells the story of how Chinese Canadians come from every continent in the world and have created communities across Canada. The mural depicts their struggles and accomplishments through belongings, places, and motifs. Marlene will be sharing preliminary drawings, sketches, paint chips, and previous artwork from the development and painting process for the mural. This talk will be moderated by Sarah Ling, Programs and Exhibition Manager and Co-Curator of Odysseys and Migration.

Event admission is $8 per person plus GST. Participants will have access to the ground-level spaces only. Annual pass holders receive free admission.
