handwash (手洗) is a Vancouver-based Cantonese rapper, producer, and multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges electronic music, Cantonese lyricism, and contemporary storytelling. His recent project Comme des Garçons reflects on masculinity shaped by his Hong Kong upbringing and how those values shift within a new cultural environment in Canada.

Through music, writing, and performance, handwash explores new ways of expressing Cantonese as a living diasporic language — expanding its emotional range, rhythm, and transnational possibilities. He is currently developing new work that experiments with opera-informed approaches to vocal performance and narrative.
