As the provincial director, Claire Avison serves as the provincial government representative on the board. Since joining the BC public service in 2001, she worked in several different ministries including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Advanced Education and is currently working in the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. In each of these roles, Claire has held policy, regulatory, and program responsibilities.

She was first appointed to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister in 2011, when she was with the Ministry of Education.
