Explore the unique migration journeys that have shaped Chinese Canadian experiences and identities with Odysseys and Migration, developed by the Chinese Canadian Museum.

From the 18th century to present day, from Hong Kong to Vancouver to South Africa and Singapore, Odysseys and Migration follows the global spread of the Chinese population and the integral role they play in Canada with various artifacts, photographs and interactive drawers.

Discover how historical movements, from early Chinese-Indigenous relations to waves of migration through the 20th and 21st centuries, reflect themes of belonging, identity, and the enduring strength of Chinese diaspora communities in Canada.

From Chinese-Indigenous relations since 1788 to the multiple migration waves between Hong Kong and Vancouver, to 20th-21st-century migrations from countries across the world such as South Africa, Thailand, and Singapore, this introductory exhibition serves as a prelude for sharing the integral role and unique identities of Chinese diasporas in Canada.
