Mid-Autumn Festival at the Museum

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at the museum and bring friends and family for a weekend of festive fun!
Enjoy a short presentation on mooncakes' history and cultural meaning, followed by a trilingual storytime featuring Mooncakes Mean Family by Chinese Canadian author Benson Shum. After story time, enjoy samples of this beloved treat.
Join us for a Mid-Autumn edition of our Curators and Crafts program, where we pair curator tours of our exhibitions with drop-in crafts inspired by the show! Take part in our Dream Factory Curator Tours happening on both dates, then drop by our craft workshop to create a sci-fi–inspired Mid-Autumn lantern to take home. Design your own UFO spaceship lantern, inspired by Ming Wong’s Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies from Dream Factory: Cantopop Mandopop 1980s–2000. Open to all ages; while supplies last.
