Come explore our two new exhibitions!

Dream Factory Curators and Crafts

Saturday, August 23, 11 A.M. - 3 P.M.
Dream Factory Curators and Crafts

Experience the electric energy of our feature exhibition Dream Factory: Cantopop Mandopop 1980s-2000 with a behind-the-scenes tour led by lead curator Dr. Melissa Karmen Lee. Explore the golden age of Cantopop and Mandopop through music, memory, and fashion, while learning about the exhibition’s creation and curatorial highlights. Tours are offered in English at 1 P.M. and Cantonese at 3 P.M.

Pair your Dream Factory curator tour experience with a creative, family-friendly paper Hanfu fan craft activity inspired by the exhibition’s showstopping stage costumes—recreated by local Chinese Canadian fashion designers. This hands-on session lets you design your own Chinese fan that pays homage to legendary idols like Teresa Teng and Andy Lau. Whether you’re drawn to Teng’s intricately embroidered sequined peacock cheongsam or Lau’s streetwear inspired denim patchwork jumpsuit, we’ve got the materials to help you channel your inner “super fan” to keep you cool for the summer!
