David and Dorothy Lam Foundation extends commitment to the Chinese Canadian Museum

Foundation

The Chinese Canadian Museum is excited to announce a renewed support by the David and Dorothy Lam Foundation, Founding Patron of the museum and now, its new Community Legacy & Learning Initiative Partner.

This multi-year commitment will help expand the breadth, depth, and reach of the museum’s exhibitions, school programs, and seniors initiatives — ensuring that Chinese Canadian stories are shared in meaningful and accessible ways across generations. From classrooms to community spaces, this support helps us connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. It also allows us to continue offering complimentary tours for senior groups, helping make the museum a welcoming and accessible space for older members of our community.

“The David and Dorothy Lam Foundation is proud to support the Chinese Canadian Museum and its work in honouring past generations while creating space for new voices to be heard. We’re encouraged by the Museum’s vision to expand its exhibitions, education, and seniors programming, and to reach more communities across the country.
It’s meaningful to be part of this journey, and we look forward to seeing its continued impact in uplifting Chinese Canadian voices," said the Foundation.

With the Foundation’s support, we are able to continue growing this work, deepen our programming, and create more opportunities for learning, connection, and dialogue. We deeply appreciate their ongoing commitment to uplifting these stories and investing in their future.

“From the very beginning, the David and Dorothy Lam Foundation believed in the vision of the Chinese Canadian Museum and the importance of sharing these stories,” said Dr. Melissa Karmen Lee, CEO of the Chinese Canadian Museum. "Their landmark support of our Community Legacy & Learning Initiative ensures that our exhibitions, educational programs, and work with seniors are not only sustained, but deeply rooted in community. This is an investment not just in a museum, but in intergenerational understanding, cultural continuity, and the future of learning in Canada.”
