Keira Loughran grew up in Toronto, Ontario with her Chinese-Canadian mother, who directed community theatre musicals, and her Caucasian stepfather. She studied theatre at the University of Alberta, and graduated in 1996.<\/p>\n
After moving back to Toronto, she acted in the Stratford Festival company from 2004-2006. From 2005 to 2007, she was Artistic Producer of SummerWorks, and founding Artistic Director of K\u2019Now Theatre. She is currently Associate Producer for the Forum and Laboratory at the Stratford Festival.<\/p>\n
Keira has acted in theatres across Canada, including Alberta Theatre Projects, Persephone Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille and Nightwood Theatre. One of her first big breaks came at Young People\u2019s Theatre, where she played Nancy in Oliver, and Alice in Wonderland.<\/p>\n
In 2014, she directed a Japanese setting of Titus Andronicus in Canadian Stage\u2019s Shakespeare in High Park. For the Stratford Festival, she has directed The Aeneid (2016), and The Komagata Maru Incident by Sharon Pollock (2017).
