The exhibition powerfully traced the legacy of exclusion and resistance, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors and providing a space for important stories to be told.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.ctfassets.net\/cuu1qhkyeang\/6PSgJx3j652WLsH5LDuCrn\/314f45acebee2750e0f5f3b5c690a279\/2.png\" alt=\"2\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Opening of the New Admission Lobby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The museum unveiled the newly renovated admission lobby, creating a more spacious, welcoming, and accessible entry point for visitors. Visitors explored the historic space, enjoyed crafts and traditional games like mahjong, and brought the theme <em>\u201cPastimes in Past Times\u201d<\/em> to life across generations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year of the Snake at the Museum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was a celebration of the Year of the Snake \u2014 with a festive Lunar New Year weekend featuring storytelling, crafts, games, and community gatherings. The program encourages industry ambassadors to explore cultural sites firsthand, strengthening their ability to share Vancouver\u2019s diverse stories with visitors from around the world.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>May<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Opening of &quot;Dream Factory&quot;<\/strong><em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em>In May, the museum launched &quot;Dream Factory: Cantopop Mandopop 1980s\u20132000&quot;, a bold, immersive exhibition that celebrates the golden age of Cantopop and Mandopop, and highlights Canada\u2019s role in shaping these transpacific music movements while exploring their significance in Chinese Canadian identity and memory. &quot;Dream Factory&quot; brings together iconic sounds, fashion, fan culture, and multimedia installations to tell a vibrant story of creativity, nostalgia, and cultural exchange spanning decades.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.ctfassets.net\/cuu1qhkyeang\/562itrmdJdBgpgGaxLYczE\/023f62df53822d0548b1cd063065ebb9\/CCM_RTP_June_2025_015__2_.jpg\" alt=\"CCM RTP June 2025 015 (2)\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Opening of &quot;A Soldier for All Seasons&quot; and the new exhibition space<br \/>\n<\/strong>The museum also opened &quot;A Soldier for All Seasons&quot; in our newly expanded and renovated third-floor exhibition space, presenting the powerful and often overlooked stories of Chinese Canadian soldiers who served despite facing systemic discrimination. With photographs by self-taught photographers Chong Hong Ho, Arthur Lee, Samuel Lee, Peter Wong, and Chuck Yip \u2014 who captured friendship, swagger, and everyday flair \u2014 it reveals a world where Chinese Canadians shaped the city\u2019s sense of style and cool.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCollector\u2019s Corner: Roger Lee\u201d offers an intimate look at Roger Lee\u2019s Yixing teapots, spotlighting the role of individual collectors in preserving history. This growing in-person engagement was matched by strong digital momentum, with more than 25,000 followers and subscribers across all platforms, extending our reach well beyond the museum\u2019s walls. Together, these achievements reflect the powerful resonance of our exhibitions, programs, and storytelling, and the deepening connections audiences are building with Chinese Canadian history both on-site and online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Commemorating Chinese Canadian veterans for Remembrance Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In recognition of Remembrance Day, the museum hosted a special program commemorating Fred Lee, one of the few Chinese Canadian veterans to have served in the First World War. The event honoured Lee\u2019s life and sacrifice, highlighting his service in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, including his participation in the battles of Vimy Ridge and Hill 70.
