As the Chinese Canadian Museum prepares to launch our feature exhibition "Dream Factory: Cantopop Mandopop 1980s\u20132000", we are delighted and honoured to have Din Tai Fung as a Supporting Partner, as they open their first Canadian restaurant in the heart of Vancouver. <\/p>\n
On May 5, 2025, the museum was delighted to attend the grand opening of the restaurant \u2014 where Din Tai Fung unveiled a special cultural gift in partnership with the Chinese Canadian Museum. <\/p>\n
To commemorate this opening, Din Tai Fung partnered with Yu Chung Ling \u2014 the son of renowned calligrapher Yu Youren, who created the original calligraphy that became the brand\u2019s first emblem in Taiwan. Mr. Yu has created two original calligraphy works inspired by a phrase that speaks to \u201cestablishing purpose for the people.\u201d <\/p>\n
One will be displayed in the restaurant, and the second \u2014 offered as a gift to the City of Vancouver \u2014 will become part of the Chinese Canadian Museum, as a tribute to shared cultural heritage and the brand\u2019s Canadian debut.<\/p>\n
The first 50 guests in line also received tickets for a complimentary visit to the museum.<\/p>\n
